Victory Vision Goes Custom for 2009

Thursday July 24, 2008
Victory Vision Ness Signature Edition

Just over a year ago I tested the Victory Vision at the bike's international press launch, and I can safely say that its styling is still as polarizing as it was back in the summer of '07. For 2009, Victory has added a few improvements including:

  • Optional reverse
  • Standard billet wheels on Premium models, which are also available as accessories
  • New tweeters for louder & better sound
  • Improved gauge lighting

Victory Vision Ness Signature Edition

And if the standard Vision just isn't bold enough for ya, Victory is now offering a limited edition Street version styled by Arlen Ness. Similar in appearance to the Vision ridden by Ness to Sturgis last year, the $24,999 bike wears a Ness-designed paint scheme and a numbered metal plate with "a facsimile of Arlen Ness's autograph," according to Victory. The trick Vision is clad with custom wheels, handgrips, engine covers, a 1" lower seat, and a lower windscreen. An average of less than one Ness edition Vision will be distributed to each U.S. dealer, and the trick Vision will reach laverage of less than one Ness version will be allocated to each U.S. dealer. A pricier (but less visually distinctive) proposition is Victory's $28,999 10th Anniversary Edition Vision Tour, of which less than 100 specimens will be built.

Does Ness' custom Vision do it for you, or would you rather stick to a tricked out Harley-Davidson CVO?

2009 Buell 1125CR

Hot on the heels of the just-unveiled 2009 Harley-Davidson CVO lineup, Buell has released details on its new 2009 1125CR.

In the words of Erik Buell, the bike is "Part superbike and part streetfighter... my vision of a 21st century café racer." The visually trimmed down 1125R variant exposes more of the 1,125cc 146 horsepower engine, and features an 8% lower final drive ratio for improved acceleration. It also wears a tapered aluminum clubman-style handlebar and a streamlined headlight and flyscreen (which remind me of the buffed out Suzuki B-King.) Improvements to both the 1125R and 1125CR include targeted fuel injectors, relocated O2 sensors, and updated engine spark and mapping for improved fuel economy and smoother acceleration below 6,000 rpm, which answers one of the few gripes expressed in my 2008 Buell 1125R Review.

The 2009 Buell 1125CR will start production August, 2008, and will be available in red and black. For more angles on this latest addition to the Buell lineup, check out our 2009 Buell 1125CR Photo Gallery.
