Motorcycle Review: Riding the 2008 Victory Vision
As if the Honda/Harley merger rumors weren't bad enough, Victory (aka the "other" American bike builder) is now taking orders on their Vision, which will reach consumers this fall.
Its styling is polarizing, to say the least, and its air-cooled V-Twin capitalizes on the 105 year-old legend built by Harley. Can it carve itself a niche in the touring category?
To find out how the Vision stacks up, check out my full review. If you want to skip the words and just enjoy the pretty pictures, visit our gallery.

I love the idea of the iPod display, but I’m a little concerned with having a two-line LCD on the tank. Talk about distraction!
I’m glad Victory built this bike. And really, what good would it have done to build another retro bike with studded bags? That’s more or less what they did with the old Touring Cruiser. Also, everyone seems to want to throw the BMW and Gold Wing in as comparable bikes, but their boxer engines necessitate mid-mount controls and eliminate the option of floorboards. It’s a totally different riding position.
You also get a batman outfit to with the purchase of a new bike.
I just test drove the Vision Street. Wow. What an amazing ride. The seating position was great. There is plenty of room to stretch your legs or pull them back. Lots of power. The radio works great, easy controls. I also got a chance to use the cruise. I have never had cruise on a bike and it works flawlessly. Easy to increase or decrease speed and cancels with a twist of the throttle, brake, or clutch. Everything is well placed. I’m going to test the tour in a couple of days. I definately am going to get one. Oh, pictures do not do it justice. You have to see it in person and ride it.
i ordered one at laughlin run in april and rode one in sturgis.no disappointments.it was a great ride compared to my vrod, roadking, screaming eagle roadglide and FXDX i race. at 70 its a posher ride.
I’m actually getting ‘Bat Bike’ as my personal tag.
I rode the HD Ultra Classic and the Goldwing and nothing compares to the Vision. No disrespect to the other brands but I don’t want a bike that looks like the rest.
