Who is Fat Bob, and Why Does He Deserve His Own Photo Gallery?

Tuesday August 7, 2007
Harley-Davidson Fat Bob

You will know him by his dual headlamps, Tommy-Gun Exhaust, chunky tires, and laid-back but imposing road demeanor.

He is Fat Bob, and he's joined the Dyna family as one of three new 2008 Harley-Davidson models.

Until you meet Fat Bob in our upcoming review, enjoy this photo gallery.

So the left mid mount peg is bolted into the primary drive case and the right is bolted to the engine? The dyna has a rubber mounted engine, so I would think that would provide uncomfortable feedback, no?

Scottie,

I’d have to double check exactly how the mounts are setup… the left peg appears to be bolted to the frame.

Some engine pulse is transmitted, but not offensively so. The bike’s got character, but is also livable; I rode it several hours and the feedback didn’t get on my nerves.

I saw Fat Bob at a bar one night. He was in pretty good shape considering how long he’s been around. That’s more than you can say for his lady, Sportster. That guy would give you the fumes off his back.

In response to Scottie, look at those peg mounts again. They are both mounted to the frame, not any point of the engine, just like my old Sportster.
