Is the Latest Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson the Melding of Two Great American Brands, or a Four-Wheeled Sellout?

2008 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson

For some strange reason, it seems that Ford's alliance with Harley-Davidson receives a remarkably different response from car enthusiasts as it does from motorcycle fanatics. While quite a few Harley fans appreciate the concept of a Harley-branded truck, fewer car enthusiasts seem to understand the appeal of a Ford pickup decked out in Harley trim.

Ford recently released their latest F-150 Harley-Davidson, and our resident truck expert Dale Wickell has posted shots of the recently unveiled, 2008 model. Check out his blog post and photo gallery, and share your thoughts on this unique marriage of two classic American brands.

Question – Will the truck also have oil leak problems and require a tool kit on board?

The way I see it is the truck is really for those wanna-be bikers. If you ride any length at all, chances are you have something other than a Hardley. My Ram is driven less than 10000 miles a year because I’m usually on my Venture or W650.

To bad GM did not do a harley truck, they might have sold more trucks. to Tom Hert, Harley’s do not leak oil. That was a company called AMF. As far as wanna bes with a Harley decorated truck, whatever floats there boat. If you have money you can have both a Harley and a Ford truck.

Nice vehicle, but I don’t see the correlation between pickups and bikes, and the f-150 Harley edition loses much of its truck appeal. The King Ranch edition makes more sense.

First, my 2000 Harley *does* leak oil – but I hold the service garage accountable for that. It didn’t leak until they got their hands on it.

Second, My Honda also has a tool kit on board. I think only an idiot would travel without the means to repair common breakdowns.

Finally, the pick-up/bike connection is obvious every time I see a sport bike strapped into the back of a pickup; whether in pieces or intact.

A company–Ford–that could go out of business and a over priced over rated motorcycle company–good company of two ever whats–Harley needs to upgrade and Ford needs to make a better auto and truck—-THAT GETS GOOD GAS MILAGE—What do you get when you have Ford and Harley together—going out business sale

Its a great idea i think some are jealous their so-called company didn’t come up with the concept. You know the one that has that little jingle listen to the rods knock in todays chev!!!!!!! whatever. And if that brand is the heartbeat we are in desperate need of a tranplant. And lastly how does a so-called oil leaker out sells a junk – lay for 30 years.

You need the truck to take the Harley to the garage to get it fixed, or to haul to Daytona or Sturgis. No Harley owner would dream of riding thiers to one of these gatherings. It would be to tough on thier corporate marshmallow butts.

Geez get over it. My Harley doesn’t leak anything. I don’t trailer it to any motorcycle events. Ride whatever you like. Everyone loves to make comments about Harleys. I haven’t had one breakdown or problem with mine. Most Yamahas oops Star (they needed to change their name, why??) are getting into Harley price range. If Harley is so bad why do they sell so many all over the world?? As far as the Ford/Harley pickup it’s fine if that is what you want. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. And don’t bother whining here about it. Their are many other auto companies that have teamed up with other companies to sell their goods, so freakin what. Again, ride what you like. If you don’t ride anything, then shut up.
