The Littlest Ninja Gets Big Upgrades for 2008: Introducing Kawasaki's New Ninja 250R

Wednesday September 26, 2007
2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R

The Ninja 250 has long been the steed of choice for beginners and small-framed sportbike riders, and Kawasaki gives us even more reasons to love their micro-Ninja in 2008. Changes include new bodywork, greater wind protection from its re-designed fairing and windscreen, and engine, suspension, and brake upgrades.

Its 249cc parallel-twin powerplant produces more low and mid-range torque thanks to revised camshafts and a new 2-into-1 exhaust, and larger 17" wheels lend the Lilliputian Ninja a big bike look. This pint-sized powerhouse is a steal at only $3,499.

Oh, how I love this little bike. If money were no object and I didn’t fear a family intervention and possible institutionalization, I’d add this bike to my garage!

(2) TEvo says:

It’s a very attractive small displacement bike. The updated looks should make it more appealing to new/novice riders who are looking for a supersport look for their first bike.

A very appealing bike visually…… should be absolutely silent, with that big of a muffler hung on a 250cc twin.
This is one model I would have suggested an under motor exhaust for……

Kawasaki did a great job with the design! This bike looks great. I agree with RJ, this bike would have looked a little better with one of the GP exhausts. Other than that, for a beginner, you cant go wrong with this bike!! kudos to Kawasaki!!!

(5) DanZero says:

Its about tune they changed the styling, hyosung was the only available maker who had 250cc bikes that looked semi decent, now i would actually consider a ninja 250 because it doesnt look 10 years outdated, even a 2006/2007 ninja looks years outdated!

(6) Jonathan says:

I’ve owned two of these over the years (and although 10 years apart, they both looked almost identical!). This is, by far, the most impressive redesign I’ve seen. It’s about time Kawasaki took the 250 Ninja to a new level!

This bike is so cool looking. I love the older models too like this one

I’d get one if i wasn’t afraid of California drivers killing me!

So has anyone rode one yet? Is the engine really stronger in the lower rpm?
