Is the New V-Roehr a Rich Man's Buell 1125R?
Proving that the high-end boutique motorcycle business is alive and kicking, independent bike-builder Roehr announced today that a financial partnership will enable final development of their V-Roehr 1250SC superbike, which could see production as early as mid-2008.
Though it vaguely resembles Ducati's retired 999 from certain angles (namely the front), this ambitious creation is decidedly American, and features a liquid-cooled, supercharged Harley-Davidson 1,250cc Revolution V-twin. The Harley V-Rod-sourced mill has been tweaked to pump out 180 horsepower, and top-shelf components include Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes, Marchesini wheels, and carbon bodywork.
While Buell's mass-produced 1125R offers a philosophically similar motorcycle for under 12 grand, those seeking ultimate American superbike bragging rights will be able to purchase a V-Roehr for $44,995-- roughly the price of 3.75 Buells.

Just think of the fleet of bikes you could have for $45k.
Scottie,
You and I calculate how many cheaper bikes you could buy with the money, but the average Roehr buyer will probably think, “This will look great in my garage, alongside my Ducati Desmosedici, MV Agusta F4CC, and Ecosse Heretic.”
Life ain’t fair, man!
Assuming a Harley could actually get even close to 180 HP (I think the ‘1′ in front is a typo), just imagine the spectacular explosion a few minutes after it starts….no one within 3 blocks will be safe. There’ll be nuthin left but a smoking hole in the ground!
And $45k will by 2 (count em! 2) 1098S’…
I love Harleys but 45 for a plastic bucket, no way man.
