Full Review: The 2007 Triumph Tiger 1050
Now that you're up to speed on my butt-numbing 963 mile journey to the 2007 USPG and you've seen my Triumph Tiger photo gallery, it's finally time to share my thoughts on how the 2007 Triumph Tiger rides.
While the Tiger proved a worthy steed during short jaunts around the city, you can also get details about my nearly 1,000 miles on the road in my full review of the 2007 Triumph Tiger.
Enjoy!

Just back from the show here in NY. Beautiful day here, so test rides would have been possible. Sorry that Triumph opted out of the show as I was looking forward to seeing the Tiger and Rocket Tourer.
As always, there were people mounting bikes from the right.
The Victory Vision is certainly a comfy bike, but the passenger handles were taking quite a beating with people trying it out.
Star’s Raider looked great, as did the ‘liners, but a little less plastic is in order, especially the console. The 1300 was a bit small for my 6′2″ frame.
Not very interested in the other metrics since they are too much into shaft drive and/or water cooling.
H-D’s 105th FLSTC looked great, but still could use wider bars. The Rocker looks better in person, but still too expensive.
Hyosung’s GV 650, with 68HP, is actually a pretty nice bike. Kymco’s Venox is a is a little small, but a company worth watching.
Scottie,
Too bad Triumph wasn’t there; reminds me of Porsche’s decision to skip out on the Detroit Auto Show. Guess they don’t need it.
Were the Vision’s handles showing wear? I certainly thought it was comfortable for the long haul, though its seats are a degree less cushy than Harley touring models.
My only regret about the show in Long Beach is that I didn’t get to ride more bikes… oh well.

Yes, the Vision’s passenger handles were all scuffed up. I assumed that they were raw aluminum, but they are painted. At least on the show model.
Triumph has forgone the IMS circuit the last several years and instead seems to have opted for more “localized” dealer demo tours throughout the riding season.
I was at one such event at a local MCC dealer. They tote along all their popular models and allow a weekend of guided demo rides.
This approach seems to fit in with their motto of “Go Your Own Way” and can lend a more personal touch to their motorcycles and dealer network rather than being just another exhibit vying for your time at the IMS…
Ive gota problem with my 07 1050 tiger. The thing spark knocks in mid range 5-7-thousand RPMs been back to the dealer seveal times for injector reprograming. Still doing it 2 years now HELP! Pete
