Harley Builds Lady-Friendly Lids
Women have special needs when it comes to motorcycling, and Harley-Davidson has recognized that with their new Skyline helmets, which are specifically designed for the fairer sex.
The helmets feature a shell and liner that is 10 mm deeper than traditional helmets. Inner liners are sold separately and come in seven different thickness sizes for a customized fit, and an anti-static comfort liner aims to reduce the "helmet hair" effect. My favorite feature, though, has to be the "pony tail notch," which offers a rear cut-out section.
Available in sizes ranging from 2XS to 2XL, the 1/2 and 3/4 style helmets are available in gloss black and are priced at $150 $175* and $195, respectively.
* Harley-Davidson has informed me that the price was listed incorrectly in their initial press release.

We’ll have to check these out. Snell rated or just DOT?
I wonder who is making these for HD?
FYI, the price was incorrectly listed in their press release… the 1/2 helmet is actually $175.
I’ve asked for Snell/DOT info and will post as soon as I hear back.
Cheers,
Basem
Ok Mr. Bassem Wasef… just how much of HD stock do you own?
3 articles and all 3 HD articles…
I once researched who was manufacturer of harley helmets. It was hbc helmets that sold around $150. Harley was selling them at $250. The sad part is that people buy them…
I hope Basem, or anyone here, has been out of H-D stock for a while because it’s tanking, and it may not come back ever. However it looks like the H-D articles are the ones that ignite passion.
No full faces?
Full face? From the company that brings you air cooled motors and ape hangers in 2008?
H-D are accessory & clothing marketing geniuses…all the rest could take lessons - that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily a decent product….or that the majority of the clientele are the sort to see the value in a proper helmet.
I guess it’s female friendly until you get your face ripped off. Hopefully you never crash.
FrankG,
I don’t own stock in any motorcycle companies.
As for the rash of Harley stories, these happened to be newsworthy this week. Besides, a few folks are interested in what’s happening with Harley.
The great thing is there’s new stuff happening every week… stay tuned!

Scottie,
They’re DOT approved, but not Snell approved.

The SNELL Foundation has come under some criticism over the years….all the endorsing & approving bodies have. Don’t accept them to be the be all - end all. I would most certainly not pass on a good helmet just because there’s no SNELL sticker in it. Avoid the obvious junk (Chinese no name brands?) and stick with a well known, albeit expensive, helmet and you probably can’t go wrong.
Let’s all form a harley-haters club. we can sit around the campfire and sing camp songs - in Japanese!
Nah…I can’t sing - in any language.
But the club is good idea … oh wait…I already belong.
If you ain’t on a harley, you ain’t a real biker. Metric bikes are for posers and wannabes. I feel sorry for you all…
All these years…all those bikes…they all ran well and never let me down. I suspected something wasn’t quite right. Thanks for finally setting me straight.
MORON!
Does anyone know the weight
