Photo Gallery: 2008 Ducati 848
Ducati's 848 may be $2,500 cheaper than the more generously endowed 1098 (and cost a whopping $7,500 less than the 1098 S), but it's hard to discern the differences at a glance; the two share similar components, including their bodywork, underseat exhaust, and single-sided aluminum swingarm.
To ponder the finer points of Ducati Superbike differentiation, take a look at our Ducati 848 Photo Gallery (and for comparison, check out our 1098 S Gallery.) If the pictures don't do it for you, you'll be able read all about the 848 in an upcoming full review.

Now that’s more like it! Looks good in white!
Larry Pegram is doing pretty well with his in FX too….
Hi Basem,
Interesting test this month in Cycle Guide…848 vs Buell 1125R.
Sounds like Mr Buell still has some work to do. No need to run the 1125R against the 1098…the 848 dispatched it with cold & quick efficiency.
Good things come in small packages!
Pete,
Haven’t read it yet… the 1125R I rode was pre-production, so I gave it some slack in my review (as mentioned at the end)… I’d love to give it another go and see what’s been worked out.
