Teen Bucks Two-Wheeled Establishment, Invents Electric Unicycle

Every once in a while we ponder the future of motorcycling, and we've looked at everything from gizmo heavy concepts to diesel power to fuel cell concepts and even supposedly "uncrashable" bikes.

18 year-old Benjamin Gulak doesn't have formal mechanical training, but according to Motorcycle Mojo he was inspired to build a unique electric bike after witnessing China's stifling pollution. His oddball electric one-wheeler looks like a sportbike mated with a Segway, and its inventive design makes DIY electric bikes look like child's play.

While Gulak's creation will most likely never reach mass production, it does make you wonder whether the future of motorcycling will be defined by independent underdogs or corporate conglomerates.

Looks like fun, but if I was tooling along at 55 MPH, I would be scared as hell to pull the brake lever!!!

Saw this on Discovery just last week. Very unlikley it will sell as is - however - the talent and innovation displayed here will most certainly land this kid a great job. He deserves all the accolades to go along with it.

sure, it looks cool, but why the crap are there no videos of this thing? Does no one involved in the making of this weird-ass thing have a video camera?

Also, the “photo gallery” has 2 pictures. That’s not a photo gallery.

Hello? It’s a vehicle. People want to see it move, otherwise it may as well be a concept sketch.

Eh, green or not….

It reminds me too much of the monsters in Tremors III. Hitting the brake looks risky.
