Photo Gallery: 2008 Legend of the Motorcycle Concours
Don't let its fancy name fool you: the Legend of the Motorcycle Concours d'Elegance is good-spirited gathering of some of the most enthusiastic vintage bike collectors and fans on the planet. I succumbed to serious moto lust last year when I attended the second annual event, and this year's competition didn't disappoint.
With MV Agusta and Norton as featured marques, and everything from Hondas to Harleys and even a propeller-driven bike represented, the third annual Legend of the Motorcycle reminded us why we chose it as one of our 10 Great Motorcycle Events. Take a look at closer look at this year's highlights in our 2008 Legend of the Motorcycle photo gallery.

The Concours d’Elegance for classic cars is a sight for sore eyes…I bet this is off the charts!
Pete,
I forgot to mention the sounds!
Every time an old bike started up– especially an old race bike– an awesome raucous cracked through the air. Very cool stuff.

I can only imagine! I see a Hailwood era 250 or 350cc 6 cyl in there.
I had the pleasure to work on one a few years ago at a vintage meet at Westwood. Heard it..never rode it.
It’s back in Japan now.
Those sixes are amazing.
There’s always a bit of performance anxiety when owners have to start up these old bikes for the judges. It usually takes several tries, and there’s always the danger of flooding the engine (or not giving enough throttle & just cranking away.) It’s no wonder the crowd cheers when the machines finally come to life.
