The 2009 Yamaha V-Max... Revealed?

Wednesday May 28, 2008
Yamaha V-Max

Yamaha teased us with a long hello of the highly anticipated V-Max, and though we weren't supposed to lay eyes on it until June 4th, those cheeky fellas over at MCN have apparently let the cat out of the bag. This image-- handily emblazoned with the Motorcycle News url-- offers the first glimpse at what might soon be the quickest production motorcycle on the planet.

Boasting a V-4 powerplant that will allegedly pump over 200 horsepower and produce sub-10 second quarter miles, this pavement blazing cruiser promises to vanquish muscular foes like Kawasaki's Ninja ZX-14 and Suzuki's Hayabusa. We'll have official shots as soon as they're available, but in the meantime feast your eyes on this unauthorized pic, and click to enlarge.

MCN are always doing this. get a pic of the old model and airbrush in some modern tweaks.
Then tell us this IS what the new model will look like. Take the Yam Super Tenere 1200 they featured a few months back. A TDM900 with 660 Tenere bodywork computer generated onto it.

I have owned 3 Maxes and now own 2, and am wating impatiently on the New Super Max. After all the hashing out of this Beast it will really be something. I like the way the oil cooler has been raised up from orginal layout. I`ll look good on one of these!

The Editor of MCN is a right shyster, always conning the readers.
Boycott the worthless rag.
It’s far too expensive for just a load of adverts.
PS. at 1679cc the yamaha designers wimped out.
it should have been a 2 ltre engine, styling is spot on. Anyone with a big bore kit!!

Bike was released in the Bike mags last week.
Looks identical to the above pic so looks like they got it right this time.
Price is high $19k with a whole lotta power and sport bike goodies in a roadster package.
