The Honda Cub: 60 Million Strong, and Growing
Scoff at scooters if you will, but the most prolific motorized two-wheeler just hit the 60 million mark-- and considering its 2008 fiscal year sales* of 4,725,048, the Honda Cub shows no signs of slowing down.
Embodying the same essential design for 50 years, the Cub is currently produced in 15 countries and only gained electronic fuel injection in 2007; its durability was proven in a much-circulated YouTube video which shows the humble scoot surviving some serious abuse at the hands of Charley Boorman. A look at the 1958 and 2007 models of the Cub on the left suggests there must be a certain truth to the adage, "Don't mess with success"-- after all, how many other industrial objects have been produced for 50 straight years with so little change?

Quite possibly the greatest marketing success in the history of transportation. Much like a Z50, you drop a Super Cub / C100 / Passport out of a B-52, dig it out of the hole and ride it away.
Yeah, back in the day we just called’em mopeds…
SuperCub was / is not a Moped…
Mopeds have “pedals”, hence the name.
