Honda Announces Combined ABS for Sportbikes
Honda has injected plenty of MotoGP-inspired technology into their latest literbike, but they've taken a quantum leap with their recently announced Combined ABS system. Intended for sportibikes (and developed on the prototype seen here), the setup uses brake-by-wire technology, an ECU which diverts brake force to the front or rear wheel, and a "stroke simulator" to create lever feedback since hydraulic feel would otherwise be absent.
The system, according to Honda, is small and mass-centralized, smooth operating, and calibrated for the level of control sport riders seek. While I've had both disconcerting and reassuring anti-lock experiences with bikes, I can't wait to find out if Honda's system works as well as advertised.

again, v-twin cruiser guy betting we won’t see this technology on a cruiser until I’m too old to ride.
Scottie,
There are no V-twin, ABS-equipped cruisers out there? None come to mind, but I might be overlooking something.
Harley’s got ABS on their touring models, so I can’t imagine cruiser twins can’t be far behind… from Harley or otherwise.

ABS on a cruiser? You already must be too old to ride. Get yourself one of those old wings with a 24 inch nav system and a lockable tray for your spare set of teeth…
