Piaggio Launches a Different Kind of Scooter Blog

Friday June 13, 2008
Piaggio MP3 blog

Piaggo believes that scooters-- particularly their three-wheeled MP3 models-- are accessible to riders of any age, and they're sponsoring a 3,400 mile cross-country ride across the Lincoln Highway to prove it. 71 year-old Bernard Rosenbaum and 72 year-old Bob Chase's 3,400 mile journey is being documented at noagelimitpiaggio.us, and the site features periodic live video broadcasts and a tracking Google map of the team's ever-changing location.

No scooter-related blog has really caught my eye since the recently terminated Scooter in the Sticks project, but I will be periodically checking on this dynamic duo's progress and see if any on-road hilarity ensues; it may not be as adventurous as two-wheeled road tripping, but ya never know...

“Simon”, based on your comments it’s clear that you’re both a gentleman and a scholar.

Being that I live in PA the Lincoln Highway has always been US Rt 30. I don’t care how old (or young) these guys are, I wish them a safe and great journey! I’ve been across the continent several times, but, once on a bike. That was in 1973 when I was young and foolish!I would not trade the memories for anything. You Guys Rock!

(6) David Galt (New Zealand) says:

Good on ‘em! So many people that age just sit around vegetating.
Since taking up motorcycling at the age of 64 I feel like a 16 y/old.
(Unfortunately she doesn’t feel the same way about me!)

As I get older I am always glad to see that age doesn’t have to slow someone down. I enjoy watching Bernard and Bob’s trip unfold across America.

As far as Scooter in the Sticks goes—I didn’t so much permanently terminate it as I did put it on a shelf for awhile. Now that a couple months have passed I have found some new ideas percolating in my head so I suspect some new posts will appear.

Man, I wish I was riding across country right now…

Bob,

Congratulations! I bet it was a blast.

I’ll check back for updates… and by the way, don’t mind Simon. He’s mostly kidding. I think.
