Full Review: 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R

The last Kawasaki we tested boasted saddlebags and a 1,352cc engine potent enough to get the most well-intentioned rider into a heap of trouble.
This time, we've plucked a Kawi from our list of 10 Great First Bikes, and judging by its repli-racer looks you might be surprised to learn that the Kawasaki Ninja 250R is available for the low, low price of $3,499. Not only is virtually every major mechanical component updated, it also wears slick new bodywork.

Despite being a card carrying Honda fan, and not a big Green fan, the 250 Ninja may very well be “the” starter bike..certainly in the States. There’s another option here in Canada (CB125R) but it would be a very hard choice if I was starting from scratch.
