Motorcycle, by Steven E. Alford and Suzanne Ferriss
Few books attempt to tackle broad subjects in only 224 pages, but Motorcycle-- which is entirely about, you guessed it, motorcycles-- does so with dizzying thoroughness. I read the book over the past several months, and though some parts moved more quickly than others, I found it mostly successful considering its ambitious scope and its relatively brief page count.
From its impact on popular culture to its relationship to art and its influence on fashion, Motorcycle correlates the world of two-wheeled transportation to virtually every facet of modern life. The book's insightful left-brain examination of motorcycling can sometimes get a bit clinical, but if you're interested in taking an A to Z tour of all things bike-related, you'll likely find Motorcycle a worthwhile read.
