Street Legal KTM X-Bow Coming to U.S.

Saturday August 23, 2008
KTM X-Bow

We don't run many automotive stories for obvious reasons, but when a motorcycle manufacturer builds an open-air, carbon fiber chassis four-wheeler that weighs only 1,543 lbs and churns 240 horsepower, we take notice.

Even more notable is when said go-kart on steroids/car with the soul of a motorcycle is to become available and street legal in the U.S.... even if it's sure to cost an arm and a leg. According to Dealer News, KTM's managing director of Sales & Marketing said at a dealer meeting that "We will do whatever is possible to bring the car to the U.S.— that, I promise."

With no windshield, a cockpit so tight you've got to remove the steering wheel in order to enter and exit, and an outrageous power to weight ratio, the X-Bow should make a handful of thrillseekers very happy.
