Revealed: The Lighter & Larger-Engined 2009 Ducati Monster 1100 & 1100S
Thursday September 25, 2008
The Ducati Monster has just received a bigger engine and lighter weight: inheriting essentially the same powerplant as the Hypermotard and styling cues from the 696, the new 2009 Monster boasts:
- An air-cooled, 1100cc desmodromic L-twin producing 95 horsepower @ 7,500 rpm
- A single-sided aluminum swingarm
- An 'S' model offers Öhlins suspension, carbon fiber belt covers, silencer guards, and front fenders.
- A weight of only 371 lbs (369 lbs for the 'S' model)
For shots of the new naked bike, take a look at our 2009 Ducati Monster 1100 Photo Gallery... and as soon as we can get our butts one one, we'll post a review.
