Photo Gallery: The Honda V4 Concept

Thursday November 6, 2008
Honda V4 Concept Bike To be perfectly honest, I didn't think much of Honda's V4 Concept when it appeared at the Intermot show about a month ago. In my eye, it was too conceptual and pie-in-the-sky to be connected to reality. Well, it turns out the public and media's response was so strong that Honda is using the V4 Concept as inspiration for a V4-powered bike that will be built in only 18 months.

Bucking the horsepower-obsessed trends that drive most sportbikes, Honda claims that they "...understand the global trend today that motorcycle users see increasing value in more emotional and sensual performance during the real world riding experience rather than absolute performance measured in numeric specifications." Translated roughly? Honda wants to build cool bikes that people feel passionate about.

To take a closer look at the inspiration behind the bike that will start production in 18 months and and get introduced halfway through 2010, here's our Honda's V4 Concept Photo Gallery.

(1) John Koskela says:

The concept pictures are missing some basic and key parts. 1. There will need to be an attachment added to hold a license place; 2. If the tires are mostly enclosed within a wheel enclosure, then it will be difficult to clean the enclosure, check the tires’ internal psi, and boost or decrease psi in the tires; 3. Brakes? What kind of brakes are they that are enclosed within the wheel frames? Rim brakes, like on bicycles?; 4 Exhaust?; 5. Is it an electric bike?

Great looking bike for a movie. For the real world, I’m not so sure…

For the most part, concept cars & bikes do nothing for me. They never even vaguely resemble anything that will ever sit in a showroom.
Show me something close to something I can buy.

The other day i saw two passionate fellows in the city who would probably like this machine, does it come equipped with a sidecar…?
