Chicago to Host "World's Largest" Motorcycle Parade
Jennifer Roche, About.com's Guide to Chicago, recently dropped me a line about her fair city's upcoming Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade, which is billed as the "largest motorcycle parade in the world." The event falls on December 7th this year, with 10,000 motorcyclists and 100,000 spectators expected to span a 20-mile stretch of Western Avenue.
The rules are simple: Riders are required to bring a toy for kids in need (no stuffed animals, please), and spectators are encouraged but not required to do the same. Toys will get distributed to hospitals, schools, and orphanages, making this a worthy cause and a great reason to ride through the windy city on December 7th! For more details, check out Jennifer's Toys for Tots information page, or the parade's official website.

You may get an argument from the organizers of the Big Texas Toy Run. With 3 different starting points and one gathering area at the end, they essentially create three parades spanning the DFW metroplex. Reportedly 50,000+ bikes
Scottie,
I figured I’d find an argument somewhere…

Chicago is hosting “worlds biggest mc parade”. Parade is the keyword here. NOT PARADES…!
Earl,
All I’m saying is that each one of these three routes has more bikes and spectators than the one route in Chicago.

Boy I sure hope Obama isn’t home to hear the loud pipes from this event. He will have the whole aftermarket exhaust manufacturing closed down!!!!
Oh, we have had over 60,000 ride in the parade.ONE PARADE. Lets hope everyone’s parade is a success. Merry Christmas Texas!!!!
My parade is bigger & better than your parade…!
Sorry but having participated in The Big Texas Toy Run I can attest to the fact that downtown Fort Worth is more than double what Chicago is planning on. Here is the kicker, the Texas run is NOT commercially sponsored. It is done entirely by voluteers who are not paid and 100% of the proceeds go to charity. Various groups and clubs pitch in to help pull this event off every year.
This is truly an amazing event. Maybe some of the Chicago organizers should come down and enjoy the event some year.
Oh cool! I’ve heard of that event David, but I never went. I used to live by Amarillo and would go on little cruises. That would be fun to in something that donates 100% to charities.
