For an all-encompassing look at the spectrum of motorcycles, it's hard to beat the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show: they've got lineups from all the major manufacturers, boatload of accessories and gear for sale, and a bunch of wild, recession-defying custom creations.
Things that caught my eye? For starters, customs ranging from this oddball trike to a Yamaha V-Max decked out with over $11,000 of accessories... as well as stuff we'll soon see on the road like Harley's XR1200 and Honda's DN-01, not to mention quite a few other visually stimulating rides.
The show hits nine other cities after the Long Beach show wraps up this weekend, so check out motorcycleshows.com for schedule details. To see my highlights from the show, take a look at my 2008/2009 Cycle World International Motorcycle Show Photo Gallery.

Look forward to the show getting to New York next month.
Scottie,
Are you bringing riding gear, or will it be too cold to sample stuff in NYC?
I don’t see anyone offering demo rides since they anticipate poor weather in January. The weather for last year’s show was beautiful, but if this morning’s gusty 20 degrees is any indication of the winter ahead, we’re in for a long cold one.
Weather could be 80 and sunny, ain’t nobody giving demos in the city. Except maybe delivery scooters? BTW, only ground hogs are allowed to make weather predictions based on one days weather…
BTW, i’ll be at the javits on my bike regardless of weather, unless i’m in jail or dead…
