2010 Honda Fury Chopper Pictures I ogled the 2010 Honda Fury chopper in the flesh nearly a month ago, but mum was the word so I kept my mouth (and website) shut... until now, embargo lift time. How's it look in person? Well, suffice to say it's every inch a Honda: it pays homage to the chopper genre, but adds modern concessions like water-cooling (via a radiator tidily tucked amidst the downtubes) and shaft drive. Fit and finish are impressive, and the chromed 1,312 cc engine looks great with all that open air above it. Incidentally, the Fury boasts the longest wheelbase of any Honda motorcycle ever built.

Price is hasn't been released yet, but the bike should hit showrooms in March or April, so an MSRP can't be far off. I'll publish a Honda Fury review as soon as I can get my butt on one, but in the meantime take a look at this 2010 Honda Fury Photo Gallery.

Check back here today at 11:30 AM, PST for photos of Victory's wild CORE concept.

Like I’ve said – radiator and shaft drive won’t endear it to real chopper fans.

Wow, a chopper….how very foreward-thinking of you, Honda……….NOT!!!!

Well time moves on. Whats wrong with incorporating slightly different elements like shaft drive and watercooling ? The original choppers were based on the bike that were available, if shaft drive bike had been around they wouldnt have thought twice about carving them up…

Saw it here in NYC, and it looks better in person. Still not wild about the radiator.

I don’t think shaft drive & liquid cooling detract from the classic chopper design. I’m not a fan of choppers, but I’m less of a fan of chains (sport bikes excepted) and noisy, hot air coolers.
Let’s face it..the only ones who won’t like it are the hard core HD fans, but then they don’t like anything that wasn’t designed in 1937. It’s 2009..time to move ahead to 1983! One day HD might discover Fuel Injection.

(6) Grover says:

Uh…not to spoil your rant, Pete (I’m not a huge HD fan either), but one point of fact: Harleys are fuel injected now. The Evolution, the Revolution, and even the big Twin Cam 96 are all fuelies now.

Grover,
Thanks…and not to worry… I have much thicker skin than that. I guess maybe I should pay a little more attention to HD…uhhhhhh…then again – maybe not.
Interesting question Basem has posed…should the Gov’t bail HD out – again? I guess once every 25 years or so won’t hurt.

That was quite the speech Pres. Obama gave…he is a tremendous orator. Looking in from the outside, and as unqualified as it comes, I agree with the majority. The American people may very well have a winner in the White House. I am among the hundreds of millions that sincerely hope so.

A chopper is a classic concept and was meant to liven up old clunky Harleys and to look “Badass” A cute high-tech liquid-cooled, shaft driven bike is a poser. Honda should stick to it’s forward thinking designs and leave choppers to the specialists.
I once test rode a Rune. I did not understand it’s purpose, but I sure got a lot of attention at lights. It was however a rather expensive ego trip for one to actually buy it.

It is pretty sick.

It’s a cool looking bike but a little to narrow. Small gas tank too. Not going to have much range with that small tank but the person buying it most likely only going to ride it to some local bike night somewhere close to where they live anyhow.

See if I have this right: Honda who make great bikes have made a freak which will handle badly, have no ground clearance, and appeal only to those derros who screw over perfectly good Harleys to achieve the same doom.
Right?

Hey i see it like this Honda makes somthing for every one ! from four wheelers for pre schoolers to gold wing works of artfor the experienced rider. One does not half to like the hole to evjoy a piece! the fury is an atempt to do somthing diffrent ! something more to offer! while i am not a big fan of the gold wing it is a great bike for some one that wants somthing like this ! not every one has the same taste likes or dis likes this is part of what makes who we are and why not just honda makes a wide virity of motor sports! I have 2 hondas in my shop ! and love them both but they share it with a yahama and a ,,,yes rob a hd is the gov. going to bail out hd? if not mabe they could turn to the bowling equipment co. again?? (AMF) i have a HD/AMF sportster! and well it does not compaire to my vtx 1800r or my vtx 1300c the HD sits and leaks in its traditional way while the hondas go every where! the hard core HD fans are getting open eyes now and then when a (metric ) cruser goes by or is mistaken for a harley! some say it is a shame I say the only shame is the price diffrence. I have had severlask several that tell me that my 1800 r is a HD wannbee “how much did you pay for your 1600 cc engine? i normaly dont get a response! this ses it all for me !! ride safe!

(14) Hurst says:

Overall, I like it a lot.

What I don’t like about it:
*3.4 gal fuel tank – too small
*Turn Signals and controls from VTX 1300 – Stick out like a sore thumb
*Rims – no option for chrome
*Exposed welds on the upper downtubes near the neck – and sloppy at that.

But you get what you pay for. For just under $13K, you get a chopper that rides like a Honda. At least they made sure that the frame is the same color as the rest of the bike components. And at a price point of just under $13K, there’s lots of room to spend the differenc in accessorizing ! (chrome rims, turn signals, handle bar & throttle grips, etc)

I have a ‘02 shadow, and i for one will be waiting in the showroom to try the bike out. Yes i dont really like the small tank, but hey there fuel stations every 1/2 mile now days. If i like it, ill trade my older bike in and get this one. I’ll just have to order some new grips and pegs from kuyri.

I wonder why it is that we think we have to hate what we don’t like or don’t prefer. I love the looks and lines of the Fury, but I’ll never buy one. But the reason I won’t buy it has nothing o do with the name Honda on the bike. It has everything to do with how I ride which is primarily long distance. So to end your speculation, yes I am one of those Harley freaks. But at the same time I have owned and loved 3 Hondas, 750 to the Valkyrie. A Suxuki Sport Bike, A 600cc Yamaha, 500cc and 636cc Kawasaki Ninjas. I have also had three Harleys in that time. My point is ride what you love but ride. Every bike will do at least one thing better or as good as any comparable competitors model. I love the Sport Bikes, but from Dallas to the Grand Canyon and back I want my Harley. Racing around like a fool popping wheelies on a Sunday The Harley stays home. Ride them all, if you can’t do that ride what you love and let everyone else do the same.

Its NOT a chopper. Its a nice Factory Custom much like a big dog or victory.I dont like the way everything gets turned around so much that the real meaning gets left behind.Like the word “old school” I just have to laugh when I see some of this crap advertised as old school.A custom bike is NOT a chopper.Just because it has an extended front end does not make it a chopper. The word “chopper” comes from people that chopped fenders and frames and made their own stuff. Before they had catalogs and every piece of chrome crap that taiwan has to offer. The dreamers and welders that thought about how to do something that everyone said “you cant do that” and made it happen.Or made parts that were not even for a bike but were too cool not to use.Now there is very few with the dream. It makes me sad.
Oh by the way I do like the fury

(20) George says:

The best production chopper ever made – Arlen Ness’s Highliner. But I have waited for years for a large V-Twin, Soft tail, with shaft drive and water cooled. Since 1970 in fact! If Arlen would make me one for under 40K I’d buy it (aint gonna happen)
THE FURY AINT A CHOPPER BUT IT COULD BE A GREAT ONE ! ! ! I have had cruisers, custom choppers and production bikes & I have built my own.

Now the plan is to buy a Fury throw away the fenders, tank, handle bars, forks, mufflers, Radiator cover and seat and play with the dang thing. It has all my base requirements. All I have to do is play… and as soon as I get back to the US of A I will.
I would like to see a jump from 80 cuin to say 120, cam it down just a little for added high speed dampening.

And I want them so sell me one without the dang fenders, tank, handle bars, forks, mufflers, Radiator cover and seat. (can’t have everything)

Like most ol’ geezers (60 and counting,) I’m not keen on radiators on a motorcycle, etc. BUT — I can live with it. Nice design, though a bit “modern” for my tastes. Currently turning a 1983 Shadow into a hardtail chop … radiator and all.
