Photo Gallery: 2010 Honda SH150i, Italy's Best-Selling Scooter
You might expect Italy's most popular scooter to come with an Aprilia, Piaggio, or Vespa nameplate, but the top selling step-through in the land that invented la dolce vita is actually the Honda SH150i.
New to Honda's lineup as an early 2010 entry, the 153cc two-seater has a fuel-injected, liquid-cooled powerplant, linked brakes, and available accessories like a top case and a tall windshield.
I'm still recording fuel economy data and noting riding impressions, so I won't be posting a review right away. In the meantime, take a look at shots of Honda's new entry in my 2010 Honda SH150i Photo Gallery.

These are nice looking scooters. I’ve seen them at the dealer and they’re not tiny like the Metropolitan. On the 150 you can actually turn the handlebar without banging your knees like on the Metro, and you aren’t forced to stretch out like you’re in a lounge chair like the silverwing. There’s actually room to set upright and put you feet almost under you. The engine size is big enough to give you enough power where you aren’t scared of speed limit signs above 35 mph! A new owner reported getting theirs up slightly over 80 mph, but it was getting a little shaky at that speed. With little to no internal storage, you’re going to want the topcase. If you go to Europe where scooters this size are everywhere, you’ll see that almost all of them have topcases installed anyway.
Since I’m storing the bike upstate and the subway service getting worse, I’m starting to think about a scooter for the city (NYC). Of course, I’m considering this on a nice sunny day. It was winter until mid April and rained most days ever since until the beginning of July.
