2010 Ducati Hypermotard 796 Officially Revealed: Italian Supermoto Dips Below $10,000 Mark!
The Ducati Hypermotard 1100S I reviewed earlier this year was a hoot to ride; the big-engined, air-cooled supermoto was quick, nimble, and hardly lacking in personality. It boasted Brembo stoppers, Öhlins suspension, and trick flip-out mirrors... but at $14,495, it was also rather pricey.
Ducati knows there's a whole group of riders that don't need a honking liter-plus naked bike, and they've just revealed the first official shots of the smaller, lighter, and even nimbler Hypermotard 796. The duck-billed bike will be priced below that magical $10,000 barrier, and will come in dark matte black, white matte, or-- of course-- Ducati red. I'll be testing this bad boy in about a month, but until then take a look at this 2010 Ducati Hypermotard 796 Photo Gallery.

Excellent. Look forward to reading about it.
Please also post some impressions on the fuel range. I expect they maintained the same fuel capacity but the smaller motor will likely be much better with fuel consumption rates.
TEvo,
And I’m looking forward to testing it. Even with slightly less fuel capacity, it should get better fuel economy with the smaller engine & lower weight. I’ll post specs when I get ‘em.

WOW, is this bike UGLY!!
Man, I love it!!!
Basem, 796? Are you sure it’s not a 697?
Instead of a horn does it quack??
FrankG, Dyslexia’s switched off, at least today… it’s 796.
Joe, I hope not!

I’d rather pick up a slightly used 1100 for a thousand more in all honesty. it would make a great intro bike for those who want a ducati nonetheless
