Low Hanging Fruit: A Buyer's Guide to Bargain Basement 2010 Buell Motorcycles
Ever since Harley-Davidson announced they're discontinuing the Buell brand last week, rumors have circulated about dealerships dumping Buells for outrageous bargain prices. Are 1125Rs-- which retail for $11,999-- really selling for $5,000? I can't confirm that, as I haven't gone shopping for a Buell recently... but the fire sale idea sounds believable, given the sudden edict to kill the brand.
Given the oversupply of bikes, Harley's promise to honor parts supplies and warranties, and the fact that Buells have improved exponentially in terms build quality, reliability, and performance in recent years, now is looking like the best possible time to buy a Buell*. Personally, I'm intrigued by the idea of a 1125CR in white and black... what strikes your fancy? Maybe a touring-ready XB12XT? A low-slung Lightning XB12Scg? Or a sporty Firebolt XB12R?
Take a look at this 2010 Buell Buyer's Guide and post a comment about your bargain basement Buell of choice... and while you're at it, let us know if you can confirm or deny some of these rock bottom dollar amounts we're hearing.

Several UK dealers have slashed their OTR (”On The Road”) price of 1125Rs from £8499 ($13500) to £4999 ($8129).
Used Buells are selling fast-collectors and speculators have picked up on them in the last 3 days.
Good insight… I imagine there will be a lot of bargains out there, but also a lot of price increases due to scarcity in the sought after models. They’ll be tucked in garages never to be seen again!

Tucked in a garage never to be seen again you say?
Hmmmmm…..not such a bad idea!
A search on cycle trader revealed some dealerss listing the Ulysses models going as low as 7499 and 7999, even for the XT model which retails at 12,999.

If this is true, it better well be ~ $5K before I sign any papers……
