Sex sells everything from racing leathers to engine gaskets, but Harley-Davidson's new "American Bombshell" ads-- featuring a retro-riffic Marisa Miller-- draws attention to Harley's first-ever "Military Appreciation Month."
Miller's leggy blondness makes it easy to forget that U.S. soldiers rode Harleys during the Mexican Expedition in 1916, and a special website (h-d.com/thankyou) offers 14 postcards that can be emailed to active or retired military personnel, most of which incorporate Ms. Miller in a variety of pinup-style poses. Active military and veterans can also enter to win a Harley of their choice which will be personally delivered by the bombshell herself, and a promotion with Maxim magazine offers more content including downloadable wallpapers.
Slightly less self-serving than Harley's previous collaboration with Ms. Miller (which hyped the V-Rod Muscle), this marketing promotion centers around a good cause while, incidentally, also highlighting their old school bikes. Especially given the dour state of business these days, can anybody blame them?

Is it just me or does she look nothing like a pinup? Too scrawny!
She looks good to me!!
I’ve previously posted some not so good things to say about the decisions Harley has made, and stand by them. This is not one of them. Anything to honor those who serve is okay in my book, so thumbs up to Harley.
Marisa Miller is the perfect fit for H-D. She is a real rider now as well, not to mention she and this bike look AMAZING, Well Done Harley Davidson, for reaching out to help the armed services and the USO. Marisa Miller and HD are perfect fit, she is the all american girl.
Best idea they’ve had in some time. Marisa Miller looks great.
Harley will do anything to sale a crappy motorcycle. The military people are smarter than this B.S.—SPORT BIKES
As a USAF Spec Ops Vietnam era vet I can assure “Rider” that many vets do ride both HD and sport bikes. I am also a licensed MC mechanic and have owned only two bikes in my entire life, a ‘71 Yamaha and an ‘82 Harley FXS. I was also pleased to have exclusive use of a sweet Ducati for a couple of months in my youth, a loaner 350 Yamaha dirt bike on Guam in ‘68, a loaner ‘67 Triumph Bonnie chopper in ‘71 while in the military at Ft Bragg, and my brother-in-law’s Fly-Rite bobber last year. As a resident of the Big Island of Hawaii, I can attest to the popularity of Harleys with veterans here in the middle of the Pacific. Hundreds of Harleys are shipped here from the other islands and the mainland US for the holiday runs each year. Vietnam Vets MC is alive and well throughout the nation. Ride American!
I like expensive motorcycles and cheap women. Perfect fit for me!
Harleys military appreciation month features hot babe bikes.. WTF?
