I always thought the family drama on "American Chopper" was staged-- kinda like pro wrestling, without the steroids. But it turns out the Teutul family's dysfunctions are dead real.
Not only did Paul Jr. leave the show in a huff earlier this year, Paul Sr. is now suing his son for more than a million bucks over his son's shares in Orange County Choppers Holdings, Inc.
According to celebrity gossipmongers TMZ, a lawsuit was filed in the Supreme Court of New York after Paul Jr. refused to cede his company shares; apparently, big Paul allegedly had an agreement with 'lil Paul that he could buy out his share in the company if he so pleased, but the younger just wouldn't relent.
If these two are as stubborn as they appear on TV, this might be a messy one.

How much I don’t care about these guys defies comprehension.
I share your feelings Pete, but OCC appears to be a successful business and the Hudson River Valley and NY State need successful businesses. I would hate for this distraction end up killing off OCC.
Like ‘em or not, OCC represents a dying breed, 1) because they’re one of a select few that create distinctly American products, and 2) because their bikes are built by hand.
Basem
They all are apparently self-consumed a$$holes.
Please… show me a family that doesnt have some form of disfunctionality… The only difference is that theirs is televised… This show it great, the bikes are great and the family is still pretty cool. Hopefully they work things out and get back to making great bikes and an entertaining show.
These guys do an admirable job of building bikes and I like to watch that portion of the show but to listen to their tirades about things and each other especially on National television is way over the top. They need to straighten up and act like professionals, at least on the tube.
Paul Jr left a successful company to design barbeque grills? No wonder he doesn’t want to sell his shares in OCC.
I am with Pete! These guys are soooo overrated it defies normal logic. Sure they build some nice bikes, but so do many other independant builders, and with the equipment they have in their shop, I could build some damn hot bikes too!
I liked the show a lot back in the early days, when they actually hand built choppers. It seems like with all their success,hand-fabrication is not so typical, like why build a part if we can just order one? Yeah, the bikes are nice, but it seems like they’re mostly off the shelf parts, with some hand built gadgets and trim these days. The one-off builds by small shops were what I liked about the Chopper Build-offs I used to see. Those guys were starting with just a bunch of metal and an often heavily used drivetrain, and building real world bikes, and when they were done they had to prove their workmanship out by riding the choppers several hundred miles to compete in a bike show with ‘em.
Now THATS entertainment!
I still think this is schtick. If Paul has left and is making barbeques, why is he still being filmed and part of the show? I think the show needed more drama like all the other silly reality shows, so they have done that.
OCC was nothing until the TV series made them what they are. They should be grateful for this unexpected wealth and count their blessings if indeed this wrangling is real.
I miss Vinnie. He was my favorite regular guy. He was a Joe like I’ve worked with all my life.
You are so right Speed, biker build off show was great. Most of the one offs from OCC can’t even be ridden for any length of time, just show pieces for a museum. The biker build off bikes had to be ridden for hundreds of miles. That was a great show.
Most of their bikes are clown bikes….
bring back the “BIKER BUILD-OFF”!!!! I get tired of watching these guys water jet bikes…wow. It all went down hill after Vinny left. Now half the show is family issues…lets fabricate some bikes guys! COME ON!!
Why have most of the bike shows gone from TV? Two Wheeled Tuesdays, Biker Build offs and the like. Even American Thunder has gone Yuppie. I miss Michele and her “Girls”.
Right on Peter. I miss the bike shows too. Michele was hot, who wants to see Colby.
Basem…….Could you speak to the TV execs and get them to shape up? The audience is booing and throwing their pocorn boxes!
I really do hate Paul Sr. Seems that any lawyer worth his salt would have a field day presenting a great case against him for the abuses he has shown against virtually all of his employee’s and his sons. What a poor excuse for a boss and a dad. Now he is suing Paul Jr. over Jr.’s shares!! What a load of crap that is. I can’t blame any of his kids for not wanting to stay around and take any further abuse from him, he is pathetic, and truly a sick person….
paskojite vasi pretkii iz ruminii
I’m sorta glade this all came about. It’s been brewing way to long. Disfunctional is far from with family has gotten. All of them forgot where they came from and how they got where they did. Now they’re all looser.
I don’t feel sorry for any of them, only the employees who had to put up with their erogant s***…
I liked American Chopper when they were building bikes and spending a lot of time in the shop and Vinny was there, then they started going here and there and buying machines to do the work for them and the whole thing became a circus with the dads constant tirades and petty jealousy towards jr.There sure was a big difference in the creativity of bikes once jr. left the last bike I saw them build was the Jeannete Lee black widow bike and it was just a rushed build no more creativity. Its amazing in America how you can have a #1 hit show and in a year or so be off the air to do ego and petty squabbling about being late or going fishing!lol
I forgot, Bring back “Biker Build-off”
Sorry to have watched this thing devolve into yet another soap opera. As a coach has said, “its better to leave too early than stay to long.” OCC has stayed too long and would have been better to left on a high instead of a low.
It’s about time they pulled the plug on this show. It’s all BS
They became rich and famous because they were on TV. Sure, they did build some great bikes, but they what they have now is a result of their exposure on TV.
They might have to work for a living now.
And they built he black widow bike for a woman who admitted she has NO IDEA how to ride?? WTF was the POINT then? Can’t wait to see V Force Customs on their own show… Younger and not as prone to so much ego perhaps????
It’s too bad. I don’t think Paul, Jr and Mike get it. OCC and TLC were great for each other. It wasn’t about Paul,JR. It was about the family building choppers. He’s going to find out that he’s nothing without OCC and TLC. And then there’s Mikey. I’m afraid we’ll all be carrying him. He’ll never find a job. OCC and TLC carried his fat butt, all the way.
I am so sick of all the new “stuff” the guys now have, and the “haughty” way they behave on the show. Paul Sr. is ridiculous, and so are his employees. At least, with Paulie and Mikey around, they did things. I really miss Vinnie. Whatever happened to him?
I enjoyed this program and hope that they all can work through their problems. I would like to see this program continue. Good luck.
I am so upset that they took the show off the air…..For me I dont own a bike or ride bikes but watching the amazing bikes being built was nice…….I so enjoyed the show.
I quit watching the very next day after Vinnie left the show. The “low IQ” crap called drama that went on was an insult to my colon. Life is just too short to sit through all the manic episodes. Letting Vinnie leave was the beginning of the end!
My husband and I took a few days this summer and went to Newburgh to check out the OCC HQ and to attend to the RJ Memorial Car Show that OCC was hosting. We had fun, but were very disappointed that OCC crew did not participate like they did the year before. We watched the show each time it was on, even the re-runs, but I found myself literally getting sucked up in all the drama and often found myself in tears. Going off the air was the best thing they could have done.
Chopper motorcycles are over. Have been for 2-3 years. There are more “used” $45k “choppers” for sale than used Toyotas! Mickey never could find his way in life. Jr never gave a damn – about anything! See ya!! When the lawsuits start, the ride’s over. And Sr will end up with absolutly nothing. But memories. Was it worth it old man?
Those bikes are serious trailer queens. I mean, can you imagine riding one for more than 50mi without having your chiropractor on speed-dial? For the price of one of those, I could probably get 3-4 fully-dressed modern bikes that will go cross country and back comfortably..
I have been following this family for a while and yes all family have disputes but in the long run we as children need to know that life is just borrowed and to keep for ever. I guess what I’m trying to say as a father he should forgive his child and mend everything because he is not getting any younger and as for his children they should appreciate that at least they have a father that is still alive and they should respect each other. No I’m not a christian person that preaches but I wish I had my parent’s to talk to and enjoy life with them. It’s sad to see that we as humans forget that family will always be together, and others foreget that life is so precious. Love and peace to you all
What is the saddest part, outside of a family self destructing, is that you can see the jackels move in. I mean Senior is a figurehead at best with all of those ‘business guys’ underneath him calling the shots. I can see why Junior doesn’t want to let go of his shares. In a twisted way, if Senior somehow had a change of heart and left him OCC in the will, Junior would be The Boss. Imagine all of those business guys if Paul Jr became CEO?
I’ve been watching the show a long time. The show was good great when Vinny was there. The show lost its steam and creativity when Vinny left. When Paul Jr left it completely fell to the ground. Anybody who has watched the show a long time can see that Sr seemed lost without Paul Jr’s presence at the shop. As one fan put it the builds were “Off the Shelf.” Let’s not forget that this is a business, family problems, attitudes, hostilities and pride should be put aside. It’s sad to see that such a successful business went into the ground over a small family misunderstanding.
I do not know allot about building motorcycles. I do know a tremendous amount about losing family. There is not a business deal or TV programs that is the value of family. I can tell you that the things that are being destroyed in your lives will carry you further and give you wealth ten times the amount that you have gotten in the chopper business. I can see three strong men that where able to make a business grow while the cameras where filming. I did not see the family being destroyed and the value of like be tossed out the window. It does not matter who started the whole thing, what does matter is how it effects your life, and that you cannot build the family no matter how hard you try. In constrast you build some of the most exciting product on the market, while you sit there and watch all your lives fall apart. Try building something that no one can give you. I have an illness, it cost me to lose my family, I also lost my Mother and two sisters because of it. I was taught since I can remember that no one is more important than family. Mike please know that you are more important to one person that really does count and there are no contract or deals that is you. Continue your life in recovery and if you have to let people go there ways. Remember one thing you have to love yourself to recover or fake it until you make it. My illness had nothing to do with recovery and I am now building my life, with the hopes that if my family will contact me I will do anything that I can to reunite.
Paul JR, quit complaining, go to work ” on Time” and get back to the passion of building Bikes and forget about the damn TV show and get back to your DAD who made it happen in the first place, this bull sh it isn’t worth it..
I too miss Vinnie, I think the old man looks bad, money doesn’t mean a thing if you don’t have your family there to be with you, never did like the bikes, except the one they made for Paul senior’s girl friend, I would’nt buy one of the bikes if I could afford one! did like all the guys though!
Once you saw jrs huge house and the cars you could tell he was a little pompous and thought it was all about him, if he does even a tenth of what sr did for others that would be a good start and make him a better person, Hope all works out for the family.
(26) Ray,
Its sad that you don’t see how dependent OCC is on Paul Jr and what cock Sr is! Ever since he resigned, not sacked, the quality of the bikes has dropped off! Sr offered him his job back because he realized how crucial to the business Jr was. I feel like your watching a different show. The last 2/3s of the last season have been nothing but stubborn pigheaded Sr trying to tell everyone how much better he is than both Mickey and Jr! The true nature of Jr and Mickey has been shown, not once have they made a bad remark or snide comment about their father! Now he wants Jr’s shares in the business, what a complete and total wanker! He should grow up and start acting like a father and a man. Ostracizing your entire family and being stuck with your second wife’s family really demonstrates his true colours!!!!!!
Paul Snr should cop onto himself and stop arguing with his son.Let him take over the business and he can go play with his bike and car collection that he accquired through the show.He turning into a sad individual he should never have listened to steve who wouldnt let mikey go to the middle east. FAMILY COMES FIRST REMEMBER THAT Paul Snr.
If it wasn’t for SR. Paul Jr. would be a greeter at Walmart.
The $REAL$ story!
Follow the money and feeding frenzy as a formula helping TLC executives generate controversy to captivate us. By watching we, all helped fuel the engine called OCC bloom and then we continued to watch OCC engine consume it’s self.
The families involved are simply victims of our lust for conflict and water cooler fodder; my feelings are for reconciliation of the entire family. Paul and his son’s will eventually agree money is a great force that can improve life. I watched OCC with the belief that Sr was only interested in promoting OCC the business for his son’s, security, which TLC seemed to reinforce. Now, we are all aware of everyone’s motivation as truth rains in it was all about the money and had nothing to do with family.
Lawyers win defending TLC, as time march’s on each family member gets involved in depowering each other. Everybody else loses! Except the lawyers
We are all here for such a short time, making a positive mark on people we touch in our daily lives is our only real legacy.
Peace
JM
Aww, come on. Paul Sr. is wearing sunglasses in the dark to cover his abuse. Wake up.
hey paula sr. blood is thicker then water
your 2 son are not working for you any more
so cool down and make up your the father
here and life is too short. and to sue your son
that is the most in-sane thing you could think
of. good luck son you will do great on your
own.
Oh C´mon!
There is not episode of this show that is not scripted and well edited. The law suit is completely staged. For bloodys sake, they are doing a show with both their names- together!
I am not a bike person, however I do enjoy their show. Mike can get a job else where, with bowling balls maybe, he was good at drilling holes. Vinnie is missed, he was calm and reasonable and great at his job, he enjoyed working with Paul Jr, his long time friend, how nice. Rick is calm and a quiet man. Paul Jr. & Vinnie & Rick should be working together, Mike can be a floater and make every one happy. I hope Paul Jr. starts to get many jobs, lets not forget he was the back bone to OCC. I have seen the bikes they did with out Paul Jr. simple bikes with a few idea’s, you sure can tell they are not designer’s at OCC any more. Thats what the show was all about Designing bikes of which OCC does not do any more. Paul Jr. does all the designing, so lets go, design with Paul Jr. Hire him and he will show you what designing is all about, he now has the freedom to design with Vinnie. As far as Paul Sr. Wow what greed does to a person, it goes to his head, he thinks he is the only one that counts. He picks on his son something terrible. Just think if your father treated you like that every day of your life and be-littles you every day of your life, who would want to work with a person like that? Not you and not Paul Jr. nor Vinnie. Yes paul Sr. make bikes, he did not design bikes, he just builds old school bikes and can’t see past the old school, could it be because he can’t design. I thought that was what built their business, into what it is today, thanks to Paul Jr. If you want a designer bike go to Paul Jr. If you don’t go to Paul Jr. it is just a bike with a few fancy trinkets on it, and not a designer bike. Show us what you can do Paul Jr. and Vinnie, American lets go hire them… As far as Paul Jr. getting a percentage of the business, he should of gotten 50% and further more he MUST fight for what is his, how dare his father say the business is worth ZERO and that is what he should get. If you ask Paul Sr what his home and land is worth he would not say ZERO and who does he think gave him what he has? He does not work he just insults people. As far as his staff, who the hell are they to Paul Sr. they will kiss his ass for that pay check and they are allowed to run the business, allowed to run all over Paul Jr. No sorry not allowed. I am glad Paul Jr. left. I am glad Vinnie is with Paul Jr. All their hard work at OCC and all they get is bitched at for everythingthey do and at the end Paul Sr. takes the credit and oh how he loves the bikes when itis all over and done with, of course… One more thing.. If Paul Jr. is reading this, her eis one for you. You came up with the name of OCC and the design, well TAKE IT BACK, and here is how…The name you have is not working, it is not you, it sounds awful, it will get you no where….My idea for you. I am sure the name is copy writed, but think about this. Orange County Teutul Chopper’s and in your design make the handle bars more like a T shape and on the design put the word TEUTUL in the handle bars or on the gas tank, make a design like your spider bike if you like, but it can be the same design change the handle bar’s to look more like a T for TEUTUL So it would be Orange / back wheel County/middle of the bike/Teutul for the handle bar’s/County for the front tire. Same design curve on top says Orange County/Curve on bottom that says Teutul Choppers and then you copy write that name.
Put a contest out there for drawings, and designs, I bet you will come up with so many nice ones it will be hard to choose. Paul Jr. you have always held your temper, your a very nice man, and you have been nice to your father, so keep it that way, be respectful as you have always been, you know something is wrong with this man, I sure do, but he is your father and as long as he is being this way stay far away from him, he is a nut case for now. Fight him legally for what is your’s and don’t let him get away with that. You should have 50%. You don’t want to see the Paul Jr. Teutul Chopper custome bikes get lost in this battle, so tell people that, tell them to come to you for custome bikes and they will. America enjoys to see your bikes you do fantastic work.
VINNE,PAUL JR,MIKEY,RICK AND CODEY…NEED TO STAR A SHOW THAT WOULD BE THE BEST…
At the end of the day too many doo gooders got involved in things they knew nothing about. Paul Sr has all his cling ons running back and forth telling him what is going on…mind you business boys and just do your job….Let Paul Jrn do what he is good at, or cant you guys move on without sticking the knife in more and more which just adds fuel to Paul Srn ajenda…………..grow up or get out!!!!
This should be compulsory viewng for any one starting a business and taugh to all in UNI seeking A MBA.
It had disaster written over it from show one.
this is a typical example of fame, making millions of dollars, getting above your station, and having it all turn round and bite you on the arse, shame really, because they will all end up with sod all, get your acts together you ungreatfull people,
paul sr. looks like he is very sick.
he has what i call death face……….
Sad that any family ends like this, the truth is Father & Sons will always end up clashing when the old stag realises he is going to be usurped by the younger thrustingstag. Sad to see the show go tits up but it had run its course.
