2011 Ducati 848 EVO
Ducati's mystery bike has emerged from the shadows, and the just-unveiled 2011 848 EVO takes the respectable middleweight and makes it downright lustworthy.

Equipped with all-new cylinder heads, pistons, throttle bodies, and camshafts, the 848 EVO now pumps out 140 horsepower at 10,500 rpm, and 72.3 lb-ft of torque at 9,750 rpm. A steering damper has been added, not to mention grippier Pirellis and Brembo Monoblocs... oh, and did we mention this 2011 model keeps the same pricing as the non-EVO 2010 version?

See a few shots of the new, class-leading bike in this 2011 Ducati 848 EVO Photo Gallery... and if you recently purchased an 848, please accept my condolences.

OMG !! That is gorgeous! I’m a little surprised there’s no sign of Ohlins, but then they did keep the price the same. Probably a smart move.
Watch some AMA Sport Bike..great racing and Fong & Rapp are doing very well on their ‘old’ 848’s.
I love it!

EVO???? But, YES!!! Sexy, Nice And Faster!!! This spec 848 should have jus been the 2011 model. Upgraded from the other years… an EVO should have wayyyyyy more stuff…. I say 848, 848S, 848R, then something kRaZy….. EVO…. Stroked motor, Magnesium bits, ridiculous price and only a certain amount… Only 500 available!!!! None to Jay Leno, Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt…. LOL!!!!

EVO is short for evolution and this is exactly what it is. An evolution of the 848 from the original spec. Price is the same, you get a revised bike with more power and higher spec brakes.

Ducati does not seem interested in making S or R models of the 848 at this time. This bike competes more on price with the Japanese manufacturers than the 1198 so it makes sense from both marketing and sales standpoints.

Ducati has already applied the EVO nomenclature to the Hypermotard line for 2010. The Hypermotard 1100 EVO and higher spec Hypermotard 1100 EVO SP.

Sorry, Basem, should always take the camera along. Could have send you pix.

I had just ridden a few miles down a little road, County Road 54 and thought “what the heck” go over to Rhinebeck and pick up a cigar”. Then it started raining. Nice. I decided the $15 was worth it.
