The Other "Captain America" Rides a Harley

Captain America
Most motorcyclists associate Captain America with the star-spangled Harley Panhead ridden by Peter Fonda in the film "Easy Rider," but comic book geeks happily identify the name with the patriotic World War II-era Marvel superhero.

Currently filming near London is "Captain America: The First Avenger," which features Bruce Willis, Nicolas Cage, and Chris Evans as the title character with a penchant for "a custom special Harley Davidson motorcycle" (or so Wikipedia awkwardly tells me.)

The movie bike is a WLA replica based on an FLSTSB Cross Bones, and was "developed and designed with the help of our H-D museum experts to look as historically authentic as possible," according to my Harley-Davidson contact.

Can any comic book fans out there tell me if this flick will be worth watching?

Source: Daily Mail, which-- incidentally-- incorrectly refers to the bike as a "classic US Army Indian motorcycle"

Looks like a great cast; combination of period piece/superhero flick; I’m excited about it. Most importantly, in spite of the current glut of comic book movies, this one is completely under the control and direction of Marvel Studios, which so far had a great track record.

This movie is part of the Avenger series which will eventually culminate in a star studded Avenger movie a few years down the line. We saw how good the two Ironman movies were so i can’t help but assume that this one will fill the shoes also.
