Cyril Huze's blog is reporting that Jesse James-- bike builder and accidental apologist extraordinaire-- has shut down his Long Beach, California-based West Coast Choppers operation.
If the report is accurate, what does that mean for non-chopper fans? Perhaps that the chopper craze-- which has been adopted by manufacturers no nichier than Honda and Yamaha-- is finally officially on its way out?

It’s just a sign of either the economy or a stressful life. Jesse James may be looking for a change.
Choppers will not change; they are on the way out like hot-rods or rat-rods. There will always be a group of enthusiasts keeping the style alive.
I will not be in that group.
Poor Jesse – all the money in the world, a business most guys could only dream of, sleeping with Sandra Bullock, and he blew it all for some strange stuff – really strange stuff. He might as well fold up and disappear.
