James Bond Rides a Honda in Skyfall

By October 27, 2012

James Bond's Skyfall motorcycle

James Bond's four-wheeled chariots enjoyed plenty of screen time in 007's cinematic opuses, but the tuxedo'd spy has also been known to swing a leg over a motorcycle-- remember Pierce Brosnan's oddly romantic ride aboard a BMW R1200C in Tomorrow Never Dies?

In Skyfall, the twenty-third installment of the franchise, Daniel Craig hits two wheels again in the opening sequence which involves chasing henchmen on a motorcycle through Istanbul's streets and rooftops. The motorcycles are modified and aged Honda CRF250R motocross bikes (with Bond's steed sporting weirdly new looking fenders), and the filming environment was so tight, many of the moving shots were photographed using cameras attached to motorcycles riding alongside the action.

Check out this behind-the-scenes clip on YouTube, and drop a line if you plan on catching Skyfall when it hits theaters November 9th.

They are never great movies, but they are a generally a lot of fun. I really had my doubts about Daniel Graig, but has actually turned out to be a pretty good Bond. Too bad his Aston Martin had to be an automatic since he couldn’t drive a manual (maybe he’s learned by now)
