Let's kick off the new year by revisiting the classic motorcycle versus car rivalry.
Among the countless reasons I love bikes is how they deliver retina detaching performance for a fraction of the price of a sports car. But what happens when you pit a motocross monster like the Honda CRF450R against a rally-bred Mitsubishi Lancer EVO GSR on a dirt oval track?
I was fortunate enough to take the wheel of the EVO and battle AMA champ Jake Zemke on the bike, and our time trial results just might surprise you.
While it was a blast to toss the car around the track, perhaps my biggest regret of the day was running out of time before I could swing a leg over Jake's bike-- but in any case, check out my bike versus car video on Car & Driver's YouTube channel, and for more of my four-wheeled vids (like this positively insane 1,100 horsepower GT-R), you can peruse the clips in their "Tested" section.

Basem,
That looked like it was really fun!
Would the car have been faster yet if the tires or conditions allowed some sliding at will, as opposed to hooked up hard?
Pete,
It was totally fun.
I bet the car would’ve been quicker, up to a point, if there was a little bit of sliding involved; I couldn’t quite pitch it around as much as I would have liked. The specially grooved dirt tires turned out to be overkill for those purposes, but it certainly made for an interesting contrast.

I think in all the cases that bike is actually faster than a Car But it’s only prediction..
There Are some motorcycles that can follow a car and cross her.
Basem, I think you love ferrari cars, No?.. Haha…
figured the car would win, but they do at the Nuremberg track all the time.
two wheels are more fun, but four wheels (and all wheel drive) are hard to beat.
