2013 Harley-Davidson Breakout Trickles Down from CVO Lineup

2013 Harley-Davidson Breakout

Remember Harley Davidson's spendy Breakout CVO? Harley dug that fat-tired design enough to de-bling the $26,499 bike and bring a more approachable spinoff to the table.

Announced as a late 2013 model, the new Breakout offers a de-dazzled version of the Softail-based CVO model but retains key elements like the wide 240mm rear tire, shaved tank console, and drag handlebar.

2013 Harley-Davidson Breakout

Power comes from a Twin Cam 103B v-twin producing 95.5 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm, mated to a 6-speed cruise drive transmission. ABS and a security system are optional, and so-called Gasser-style 10-spoke cast aluminum wheels are black powdercoated, while seat height is an impressively low 24.7 inches. The Breakout starts at $17,899 in Vivid Black, or $18,299 in Big Blue Pearl or Ember Red Sunglo-- an $8,600 discount off the CVO version, or nearly a Sportster's worth.

I like it. Any time a company can bring down a price of a bike, that’s a good thing.

Way to go Harley! That’s a really nice looking motorcycle! Does it have a 103, or a 110 engine? Keep up the good work, and keep lowering the prices!

Just wish HD would offer more options around the VRod engine…
