Back in the 1940s, Harley-Davidson built almost 70,000* WLA model motorcycles for the war effort. Those chopped and bobbed bikes featured a 45 cubic inch powerplants, and were often accompanied by soldiers wearing the clothes which inspired Harley's new collection.
* This number has been corrected from a previous post indicating that almost 90,000 WLA models were dispatched.
