Celebrating Speed at the 2008 MotoGP Races in Mugello, Italy

From Basem Wasef, About.com

Practice and qualifying at the Grand Prix of Italy was mostly dampened by rain, but race day was sunny and quiet until the roar of 220+ horsepower MotoGP bikes echoed through the picturesque Mugello valley.

The race ended 23 laps with Italian rider Valentino Rossi emerging victorious; it was his seventh straight victory at the circuit, and fans went wild when his Fiat Yamaha streaked past the finish line. He was followed by Ducati Marlboro's Casey Stoner and Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa. Americans Colin Edwards and Nicky Hayden finished 5th and 13th, respectively.
