Carbon fiber

Definition: A strong, lightweight, and thin weave constructed of bonded carbon atoms. Often decorative but sometimes functional, carbon fiber bodywork lends a functional aesthetic to sportbikes, and occasionally other bike types, as well. Carbon fiber is expensive enough that it is often imitated in plastic.
Pronunciation: kahr-buhn fahy-ber
