KTM, the Austrian manufacturer renowned for their offroad motorcycles, has entered the superbike market with their 2008 1190 RC8 superbike. The angular motorcycle features:
- A 75 degree, water-cooled v-twin powerplant that produces 155 horsepower at 10,000 rpm.
- An underslung exhaust system.
- Wind tunnel tested aerodynamic bodywork.
- A dry weight of 414 lbs, and a total weight of 440 lbs with a full tank of gas.
- Radially mounted 4-piston, 320mm front brakes, and 2-piston rear Brembo brakes.
- A chrome molybdenum steel trellis frame.
- WP upside down 43mm front shocks, and WP monoshock rear suspension.
