From Basem Wasef, About.com

KTM, the Austrian manufacturer renowned for their offroad motorcycles, has entered the superbike market with their 2008 1190 RC8 superbike. The angular motorcycle features:
  • A 75 degree, water-cooled v-twin powerplant that produces 155 horsepower at 10,000 rpm.
  • An underslung exhaust system.
  • Wind tunnel tested aerodynamic bodywork.
  • A dry weight of 414 lbs, and a total weight of 440 lbs with a full tank of gas.
  • Radially mounted 4-piston, 320mm front brakes, and 2-piston rear Brembo brakes.
  • A chrome molybdenum steel trellis frame.
  • WP upside down 43mm front shocks, and WP monoshock rear suspension.
Poised as an aggressive competitor to the Ducati 1098 and the Buell 1125R, the KTM 1190 RC8 should make the superbike market even hotter.
