Yamaha's new-for-2009 Star Motorcycles V-Star 950 is aimed at mid-level riders in the cruiser segment, as well as those choosing to downsize from heavyweight bikes. The V-Star 950 starts at $7,890 (in black), and $8,090 (in blue or red.) The Tourer model adds saddlebags, a windscreen, and a backrest for $8,990 (in black or black cherry), and $9,090 (in silver)

Features include:

• A 942cc, air-cooled V-twin
• A 5-speed transmission with straight-cut gears
• A seat height of only 26.6 inches
• A wet weight of 613 lbs for the standard version, and 657 lbs for the Tourer.
