Where I bought it
Mikes Famous H-D in Groton, Ct. The best experience ever buying a big ticket item. They worked with me to get the numbers right. They were very patient answering all my questions. It was ready when promised and pre-paid half of the first service.
They will be my first stop when I replace this bike.
Why I bought it
I have been riding motorcycles all my life. I have had a Rickman, Yamahas, Hondas, and before this bike a 2001 Kawasaki Nomad. I rode that bike every where, It had been to Kentucky down the BLue Ridge Parkway into Tennessee and every where in between. It had been on Tail of the dragon several times. It was a great bike I had it for 8 years and 56K miles. I figured since I did all this long distance touring and my kids are now grown and I paid for their college education and they are soon to out on their own I paid my dues and It was now my turn. I bought this bike as a 50th birthday present to myself. I have always wanted a Harley, although the specific model has changed as I grew older. Now was the time, the Ultra was the bike. My wife and I plan on trips to Dutch country in Pennsylvania. down to Florida, into Tennessee to ride the Natchez Trace, Another run on the Blue Ridge. I plan on racking up miles and smiles on this Ultimate ride.
Tips and Tricks
- Its not a sport bike by any means but it has plenty of grunt and for comfort...Well they don't call it an "Ultra" for nothing. It has almost every creature comfort you can ask for. Harley has many accessories to make this your own. But the best advice I can give, get on it and ride.
