Where I bought it

Harley-Davidson - Sunbury, Ohio (near Columbus, Ohio). I ride with the salesman (JC) on occasion and he offered me a deal. I took him up on it and drove down. Very friendly service. Attended me with great concern. Had various bikes available for me to choose from. Was able to test drive any of them. I ended up riding it back home to NE Ohio, almost a 3 hour ride. For the first time riding a Harley - Davidson, it was easy riding, the power blew me away. I am very comfortable with my choice and the service.

Why I bought it

I sat on various bikes, and was satisfied with the seat on the Sportster. That and the monthly payments made it afffordable and I took it for a test drive and immediately enjoyed it. Though I'm a big dude, the bike seems comfortable and easy to handle. I've only been riding 2 years & this is my 2nd bike, so I consider it a starter bike, though it is fast and handles well. I have no difficulty when I lean on it, when I accelerate, when I stop. I find the bike is well built and the engine is not only powerful but I can hear its enormous power too. The loud pipes give me confidence that cagers know I'm around and will look out for me. My next bike will be a larger one though I'm unsure as to what it might be.

Tips and Tricks

  • It's not a hugger, where the front tire is a large one. I feel as if I'm very high off the ground, but that doesn't prevent the tight turns, or any problem with leaning. The mirrors seem to shake quite a bit over 60mph. A fast bike with easy handling.
