Where do you go, what do you do?
I am active with my ABATE Chapter (Buffalo - Erie County NY) I am a Life-Member (at-large) of HOG. I average 10,000 miles a year. This includes our Freedom Rally at the State Capitol in May (ALBANY)
Road Trips, I avoid Bike Weeks, too many wannabees. Too crowded and the prices jump up. Go to Sturgis a week before, you can still get your" t"s & pins, if you need them. Most common destination: Hog Holiday (Labor Day weekend) Springville, NY
Advice
- Whether independent or a club member, get involved in an MRO . Motorcycle Rights Organization, such as American Bikers Aimed Toward Education. If the governing bodies had their way, they would remove all two-wheelers from the infrastructures. You need to find your local chapter (s). Be it AMA - ABATE - or the MRF. Think it'll never happen? They didn't think they would pass a helmet law in Calif. They stayed home and let it pass. It is nothing to do with safety. No state requires you to remove your helmet while riding. I wear one, DOT approved. But, I think every individual should have the right to choose.
